诺冠的工作原理直接、简单。通常将密封的非磁性金属或工程塑胶管内根据需要设置一点或多点磁簧开关,再将带有内置磁性系统的浮球固定在本体管内磁簧开关相关位置上,使浮球在一定范围内上下浮动,利用浮球内的磁性系统透过本体管去触发磁簧开关的闭合或断开,以产生开关动作,达到控制液位的目的。这种简单开关已得到证明的工作原理适合于各种工业状况下的液位测量。常开和常闭是没有注入液体时的状态。Norgren气动压力开关一般都具有良好的回差特性,因而即使被检测物在小范围内晃动也不会影响驱动器的输出状态,从而可使其保持在稳定工作区。同时,自诊断系统还可以显示受光状态和稳定工作区,以随时监视光电开关的工作。
诺冠和电容式接近开关。因为这两种接近开关对环境的要求条件较低。当被测对象是导电物体或可以固定在一块金属物上的物体时,一般都选用涡流式接近开关,因为它的响应频率高、抗环境干扰、应用范围广、较低。若所测对象是非金属(或金属)、液位高度、粉状物高度、塑料、烟草等。则应选用电容式接近开关。这种开关的响应频率低,但稳定性好
